SA8000 Accredited Certification Bodies

Production facilities that seek certification to the SA8000 humane workplace standard must contact one of the organizations accredited by SAI to certify compliance to the SA8000 standard and arrange for an audit. Below are the organizations accredited to certify compliance to SA8000.

SAI Only Certification Bodies (CBs) accredited by SAI for SA8000 are listed on our website. Their certification marks include a special SAI mark given to qualified facilities and they are authorized by SAI to authorize the use of the SA8000 mark by organizations they have determined comply with SA8000 and are regularly re-audited to verify assure continuing compliance. These CBs follow SAI requirements; they are subject to SAI accreditation procedures and oversight: BVQI, … To contact them, see below.

Other Certification Bodies claim to offer SA8000 certification audits, but if they are not on our website they are not part of the SA8000 accreditation/certification system, therefore are not authorized to ascertain whether or not an organization qualifies for certification. Some CBs are at present undergoing the application process for accreditation to SA8000. Their identities are not publicly released by SAI. SAI lists only those that have been accredited.

Warning: The SAI accreditation system does not apply to Second Party Audits nor does it extend in any way to any other subsidiary or division of the parent bodies of the accredited CBs. All interested parties are warned to verify that those offering auditing services are actually the SAI accredited certification bodies, even if the organization offering audit services bears a name very similar to that of an accredited body listed here.
